About Chakras

The word chakra (pronounced Shakrah) means “spinning wheel of light”. The chakras - or “energy centers” - regulate your body’s energy intake and distribution. To remain healthy, your chakras need to be maintained, or balanced, on a regular basis.

Negative thoughts and emotional upset due to trauma, abuse, neglect, loss, fear, anxiety, conflict and stress can create blockages and obstruct the flow of energy to and from the chakras. The Root Chakra, for example, is located at the base of the spine. It’s related to survival instincts, self-preservation, and your connection to your physical body. If the chakra is spinning, or “activated”, you feel grounded, stable, and secure. If there is a blockage in this chakra you might easily feel unwelcome, become obsessed with your own security, and you may resist change. This could also manifest in the physical body causing pain and dysfunction in the legs or feet, signifying a sense of helplessness to move forward in your life. The well being of your glands, organs, bones, muscles, and especially your state of mind are all linked to the chakras.

Healing and wellness truly begins when the chakras are “aligned” and in balance. Once this is done everything in your life begins to flow in a positive and productive manner. You feel more empowered, grateful, and inspired. You’re more at peace with yourself and everything around you. You start to feel whole again. You have the ability to take control, to deal with life’s challenges and turn things around. You gain clarity and insight, and discover that you can manifest all that you truly desire.
